BROSSARD, QC (April 10, 2025) – In view of International Siblings Day, Hyundai Auto Canada recognizes two passionate “Nthusiasts" who perfectly embody the spirit of Hyundai's N division, which celebrates its 10th anniversary in 2025.

On the North Shore of Montréal, Québec, Anik and Gabriel Dubé are hard to miss, each behind the wheel of their striking Performance Blue Hyundai Veloster N and Elantra N. Their enthusiasm for Hyundai's performance brand has not only shaped their driving experiences but also strengthened their sibling bond.

    A Shared Passion

The Dubés' journey with Hyundai’s N brand began with Anik. “I bought a Veloster Turbo in 2019, and that car introduced me to the automotive community,” she recalls. Through photography and interactions with other enthusiasts, Anik became friends with an owner of a Veloster N, Hyundai’s first N vehicle in North America. Captivated by its design and performance, Anik eventually traded in her Veloster Turbo for an N model in 2022 at her local dealership in Blainville.

Gabriel, on the other hand, wasn’t initially a car enthusiast—until his sister surprised the family by rolling into their driveway with her Performance Blue Veloster N. “She didn’t tell anyone about it beforehand,” he says. At the time, he owned a 2021 Elantra Essential, but after seeing Anik’s N in action, he couldn’t resist. He soon traded up to a 2023 Elantra N in the same signature hue. “It’s such a beautiful colour. Every time I pass someone on the road, I inevitably get stared at,” says Gabriel.

Beyond performance, the Dubé siblings have customized their vehicles to match. “It’s important to us that our cars have a cohesive aesthetic,” says Anik. Both have added white rocker line wraps, upgraded wheels, and other modifications to reflect their shared style.

They even took it a step further with matching personalized license plates, with Anik’s reading “IN” and Gabriel’s “OUT.” A playful nod to their respective personalities. We even tried to convince our mother to buy a Kona N and get an “N” plate. We’re still working on that!” Gabriel says with a laugh.

    A social media sensation

The siblings’ love for their N cars hasn’t gone unnoticed. Earlier in 2024, a TikTok video showcasing their Veloster N and Elantra N side by side went viral, drawing hundreds of comments. While many praised the duo's choice, others expressed skepticism about Hyundai’s performance credentials.

“There are still people who underestimate Hyundai, but they just haven’t experienced what these cars can do,” says Gabriel. “I don’t know anyone who has driven an N and didn’t come away smiling.” Anik adds that Hyundai’s N community is growing stronger, with more people recognizing what these cars are capable of.

While their Performance Blue paint initially drew them in, it was the combination of aggressive styling and exhilarating driving dynamics that sealed the deal. Both vehicles feature a 2.0-litre turbocharged engine, delivering 275 horsepower (276 for the Elantra N). Their dual-clutch transmissions ensure seamless shifts, providing both thrilling performance and practical fuel efficiency.

“I love my N for its power and sound, but also because it’s an excellent everyday car,” says Gabriel. Despite their track-ready nature, both siblings drive their N vehicles year-round, undeterred by Québec’s harsh winters.

    A community of enthusiasts

Owning an N vehicle has introduced Anik and Gabriel to a passionate community of like-minded enthusiasts. Through social media, Hyundai N drivers across Canada share experiences, plan meetups, and celebrate their cars. Gabriel’s closest friend, Guy-Karl Mailhot, also recently purchased a 2025 Performance Blue Elantra N.

Last summer, the Dubés traveled to Ontario for Canada’s largest Hyundai N gathering, hosted in partnership with Nshftrz at Hyundai Canada’s headquarters in Markham. Attendees, including professional racing drivers Connor Attrell and Mark Wilkins, had the chance to connect, share their passion, and even experience the all-electric Hyundai IONIQ 5 N.

Beyond the cars, this shared passion has brought Anik and Gabriel even closer. “We’ve always been close,” Gabriel says. “Even when I was little, I never wanted to go to the playground without Anik. Now, we just do the same thing—but with cars!”

    About Hyundai’s N brand

Established in 2015, the N brand was first introduced by Hyundai at the Frankfurt Motor Show, along with the N 2025 Vision Gran Turismo concept. N vehicles quickly proved their worth in motorsport, and the technology made its first appearance in a production vehicle in 2017 with the i30 N. In North America, the Veloster was the first to feature an N variant in 2019. The Kona N and Elantra N followed in 2022. Hyundai’s N lineup recently made its first foray into the electric vehicle world with the launch of the IONIQ 5 N, a 641-hp all-electric SUV capable of going from 0 to 100 km/h in 3.4 seconds on a racetrack.

With a decade of high-performance innovation and a dedicated community of enthusiasts like Anik and Gabriel Dubé, Hyundai’s N brand continues to push the limits of driving excitement—on the track and the open road.
