Hyundai presents Hyundai Hope On Wheels at the Canadian International Auto Show

  • Hyundai Hope On Wheels will be a registered non-profit organization, dedicated to supporting pediatric cancer research and treatment.

Toronto, Ont. (Feb 20, 2025) – Following its official Canadian announcement earlier in February, Hyundai Canada shared more about Hyundai Hope On Wheels during its press conference at the Toronto Auto Show, supported by representatives from the SickKids Foundation.

Each year, Hyundai Hope On Wheels will distribute research and support grants to institutions and organizations across Canada, focusing on improving outcomes and treatments for children diagnosed with cancer In 2025, the initiative will donate more than $4 million to support pediatric cancer research. Hyundai Canada’s network of 226 dealerships nationwide will play a vital role in supporting Hyundai Hope on Wheels with a donation from every vehicle sold. With the inception of the non-profit organization, every new vehicle sale contributes to Hyundai Hope On Wheels as of January 1, 2025.

Additionally, Hyundai Canada took home two awards from the AJAC Canadian Car of the Year awards presentation. The Hyundai Santa Fe won the Canadian Utility Vehicle of the Year, and the IONIQ 5 N won the Canadian Electric Utility Vehicle of the Year award.

In addition to the Canadian launch of Hyundai Hope On Wheels, and the double win at the AJAC Canadian Car of the Year awards, Hyundai’s booth at the Canadian International Auto Show features several key highlights: the Hyundai Hope On Wheels flagship vehicle, the all-new 2026 IONIQ 9, the world-renowned one-million-kilometre Elantra, and the complete range of Hyundai’s award-winning lineup. The 2026 IONIQ 9 marks Hyundai Motor’s continued dedication to electrification and is a cornerstone of the company’s ambitious goal to offer a full lineup of 23 EV models by 2030. Following the success of the IONIQ 5 and IONIQ 6, both of which won World Car of the Year Awards in 2022 and 2023, respectively, the IONIQ 9 will build on this legacy of excellence in electrification.

With the longest wheelbase of any Hyundai model, at 3,130 mm, the IONIQ 9 impresses with its expansive interior and striking proportions. The pure volume of the body and fenders create an imposing impression, while intricately designed accents add depth and dimension. The flowing rear wheel arch character line emphasizes the vehicle’s unique volumes and contributes to its dynamic design.

The advanced PE System features a high-voltage, floor-mounted NCM lithium-ion battery with a capacity of 110.3 kWh. The IONIQ 9 will be available in multiple configurations, including:

  • Long-Range RWD: Powered by a 160 kW rear motor
  • Long-Range AWD: Equipped with an additional 70 kW front motor
  • Performance AWD: Featuring 160 kW motors at both the front and rear

The IONIQ 9 will deliver an estimated range of at least 500 km across all trims.

The 2026 Hyundai IONIQ 9 will be available at Canadian dealerships in spring 2025.

Lastly, performance enthusiasts are well taken care of with vehicle driving simulators from the N brand vehicle lineup. Additionally, to commemorate the N Brand’s 10th anniversary, a “Day at the Track” contest is available to allow participants a chance to win an N driving experience with a guest at the Canadian Tire Motorsport Park.
