Canada's Federal Incentives.

Curious about Canadian EV Federal Incentives? 

 

The Government of Canada has launched the Electric Vehicle Affordability Program (EVAP) in Canada.

Under this new program, starting February 16, 2026, certain Electric Vehicles (EVs) are eligible for up to $5,000 in federal incentives and certain Plug-in Hybrid Electric Vehicles (PHEVs) are eligible for up to $2,500 in federal incentives, for the year 2026.

Incentives will decrease over the program's five year lifespan. The program runs until March 31, 2031, or until funding is depleted. The program is administered independently by the Government of Canada and is subject to cancellation or change. For more information from the Government of Canada, read details here.

The following Hyundai vehicles may qualify for federal incentives in Canada:

Qualifying vehicles must have a final transaction price of $50,000 or less, as calculated in accordance with regulations set by the Government of Canada.

Available incentives per model is in combination of Federal EV Incentives and Hyundai Special Offer Bonus. See your local dealer for availability of model inventory.

KONA Electric

 

All 2026 KONA Electric models may qualify for up to $8,000 in incentives:

 

  • 2026 KONA Electric Preferred
  • 2026 KONA Electric Preferred with Trend package
  • 2026 KONA Electric Preferred with Ultimate package

IONIQ 6

 

All 2025 IONIQ 6 models may qualify for up to $21,000 in incentives:

 

  • 2025 IONIQ 6 Preferred Long Range RWD
  • 2025 IONIQ 6 Preferred Long Range AWD
  • 2025 IONIQ 6 Preferred Long Range AWD with Ultimate package  

IONIQ 5

 

May qualify for up to $10,000 in incentives:

 

  • 2025 IONIQ 5 Preferred Standard Range RWD model

TUCSON Plug-in Hybrid

 

May qualify for up to $6,500 in incentives:

 

  • 2025 TUCSON Ultimate Plug-in Hybrid model

Québec

The Roulez vert financial assistance program offered by the Gouvernement du Québec offers a rebate of up to $2,000 for electric vehicles and up to $500 for a plug-in hybrid vehicle (8 to less than 15 kWh), for vehicles registered in 2026, where the program is scheduled to end December 31, 2026.

Newfoundland and Labrador

The government of Newfoundland and Labrador is offering rebates of up to $2,500 on the purchase or lease of an electric vehicle and $1,500 for a plug-in hybrid vehicle, where the program runs until March 15, 2026, or until program funding is depleted.

Prince Edward Island (PEI)

The government of Prince Edward Island is offering up to $4,000 to Prince Edward Island residents who purchase a new or used EV and $2,000 for a plug-in hybrid vehicle.

Manitoba


The government of Manitoba is offering an electric rebate of up to $4,000 for eligible Manitobans on vehicles with an MRSP of less than $70,000. Incentives for leases are proportional to the length of the lease. The rebate amount is determined at registration with Manitoba Public Insurance (MPI) beginning on July 1, 2024. The program is in place until March 31, 2026, or until program funding is depleted.

Yukon

The government of Yukon is offering a rebate of up to $5,000 for EV and plug-in hybrid vehicles with an electric range of 50 km or greater.

Ontario & British Columbia (BC)

As of early 2026, the government of Ontario and the government of British Columbia do not offer provincial-level rebates for electric vehicles (EVs), but federal incentives remain available.
